Good cheap eats, particularly at lunch. Too dark inside.

Can't go wrong with Hunan. Everything is good there. Very good prices as well. Service is always prompt and polite.

Delicious egg rolls and crab rangoon. The complimentary pot of hot tea is a nice addition to a reasonably priced and flavorful meal. The vintage decor and atmosphere is an important part of the Hunan dining experience.

This is the best food in town, their egg rolls and egg drop soup are the best. I try and eat there every time I go to Jeff. Wish they had a restaurant near the Lake of the Ozarks. The employees are very nice and nice clean atmosphere.

Why is the prices so high? If in wheelchair you need another person with you. Portions are smaller. The taste of items changed. Maybe they using cheaper stuff.

Delicious food, nostalgic atmosphere, friendly staff. Came here for my birthday and everything was lovely. We had a large group with no reservation and they made accommodations very quickly. I highly recommend the Hunan beef, crab rangoon and hot and sour soup.

PRICES DO NOT MATCH THE MENU PRICE AND WHEN YOU QUESTION THEM THEY POINT TO THE MENU THAT SAYS PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. Great for family, dates, single, etc. Very polite staff. Very authentic! Will be back everytime we come to Jefferson City for trainings!

First...NOTHING is priced correctly on the menu. The food was edible but a long way from good. They had several customers there for lunch but not full. It was just ok but not good enough for us to return for any reason.

We stopped here to eat while in Jefferson city with some friends. The food was good but the waitress we had was a bit rude and abrupt. As soon as we were seated before we even was able to pick up and open the menus she was already asking us what we wanted to order. She brought hot tea and water to drink as it comes with the lunch. When we ordered our food, I was going to order a soda as well but she yanked the open menu straight out of my hands while I was looking at the soda options! The food came, it was hot and most of it was good, only bad part about the food was that the crab rangoon didn't taste or look like there was any crab meat in it at all!

I came here because of the great reviews... I was disappointed. The food was over cooked, dry and bland. The service was fast, but it was so fast that I couldn’t even get a word in with the server which made me feel like they didn’t actually care about what I thought or needed. I wouldn’t go here again.

Hunan is old school Jefferson City. The place has remained unchanged for decades and yet locals know the prices are resonable and the food is flavorful. We enjoy crab Rangoon with an actual hint of crab. The eggrolls also appear to be made fresh in-house. Hunan beef and cashew chicken are personal recommendations. I also recommend the meals for 2 or more. This is the best bang for the buck.

I dine on Chinese dishes most of my life and have learned to cook many Chinese dishes as well. The soups here are terribly disappointing and ridiculously priced for less than a cup. Menu said $1.75 but got charged for $2.50. I guess that's very telling already for the rest of the pricing reviews too. Sizzling beef was good though, and served with scallions. Im also glad they served free hot tea as this is a true Chinese restaurant tradition.

I took my daughter here for our girls night. The service was fast and so friendly. The food was served hot, fresh and delicious! We will visit again.

Best Chinese restaurant in town. As soon as I walked through the door, they greeted me with a very warm and honest smile and walked me to my table. I went here for dinner and had the Hunan Chicken and it was wonderful, along with their warm tea. I'll be going back for sure.

Outstanding! Love this place, the whole family does. Only discovered it recently but am so far impressed, especially the quality of the food. Service is good, but not talkative, blunt and to the point, but through with the details.

Always has the best food. Before I moved we would walk in and they would know exactly what we wanted and would start it for us. When I came back to visit this last time the woman kind of recognized us and when the table started to order she remembered who we were. Great food and amazing service always.

My grandparents would bring me here almost every Saturday, and I've never found another Chinese restuarant as good since moving away. I have my husband bring me here every time we come back to Jeff City. My favorite dishes are their Sesame Chicken and House Beef.

The food was amazing and the service was great. It was until we got our bill. My husband ordered the half fried duck which was $13.95 on the menu but on the bill was $19.95.... So I asked the waiter which then she went to get the man who took our order and he was very rude and said very angry like " half duck $19.95, you talk to owner" and stormed off. Then a woman came over an flung open a menu and pointed to an area that said "prices are subject to change without notice." And slammed it down and stormed off. So we went to speak to the owner.... Before we could speak to him the same lady came with the menu again and said the same thing about the prices may vary without notice. Then her and the owner spoke in another language and he only gave us $5 off when he should have given us $7 off. It's not our fault the waiter didn't tell is it was $19.95. loved the food but won't go back. You don't treat customers this way!!!!
